bFW Spotlight: Fit4Mom, Fort Worth

UPDATED Aug, 2018

Looking for a way to get fit and find your tribe after having a baby?

I recently had a chance to visit with Becca Graham, owner of Fit4Mom in Fort Worth and you'll definitely want to check them out!

Since we last spoke, they've offered up 2 new class offerings:

Fit4Baby classes are interval based, combining elements of strength training, cardiovascular exercises and stretching and balancing exercises, specific for the prenatal stage of motherhood.

Run Club is for everyone! Whether someone is preparing for an upcoming race or simply enjoys running with other mamas, this program is for all levels. Run Club allows people to run, improve their health and fitness, and connect with other moms through two styles of classes: Run Clinics are designed to correct running form and increase speed and agility, and Run Days are designed to increase endurance. No running experience required!

Q: Tell us about the Fit4Mom group in Fort Worth.

We currently offer three different programs:  Stroller Barre, Stroller Strides, and Body Back. All of our instructors are certified in Pre and Post-Natal Fitness, equipped to provide exercises for any stage of motherhood.  We have women who have never worked out before along with former collegiate athletes and everything in between. Our classes make fitness accessible for everyone by providing various levels of difficulty to choose from in a judgement-free atmosphere.  Due to the changes in a women's body during pregnancy and postpartum, FIT4MOM is a safe place to workout and not feel alone.  Some moms need to cross their arms over their chest during jumping jacks to help support breasts full of breast milk.  Others choose a low impact option, eliminating the jumping aspect, due to urinary incontinence.  We have modifications and challenges for each exercise.

Q: What is the best thing about Fit4Mom?

Hands down, the best thing is the community!!  The fitness aspect of our program is incredible and top notch.  However, our first priority is providing a welcoming environment for all moms to feel connected and supported.  We have weekly play dates, monthly Mom's Nights, and talk about all things motherhood throughout class.  Women consistently tell me how much they appreciate FIT4MOM simply because of the friendships they have made.  In my opinion, motherhood was never meant to be done alone.  We are communal beings and having a support system is crucial.  Women come to us in the trenches of Postpartum Depression, sleep deprived, unsure about a rash on their baby's arm, eager to tell someone about the new word their toddler said that morning, wanting to swap sleep training advice, looking for friendships with moms...and they discover that they're not alone.  It's common for women to come to class just to get out of the house and spend time with other adults.

Q:  Where can our clients find you?
